Aquarium and aquarium in my passion for plants, fish and aquatic world
Photographing the aquarium is not easy ... who has experimented with both the poor camera phone up to those who have tried it with expensive digital SLR, often run dozens of shots to find himself in front of very few decent pictures.
The reasons are several, but most important is the lack of light. A good MACRO 1:1 helps, but can not do everything alone: low-light times are necessarily small thing, then a nice camera flash, better than 2, even 3 if its advance is ideal.
Or a ring flash ... but these are expensive as well.
Here, therefore, that a simple article for home construction ( DIY ) an accessory to the camera flash or an external flash (the most powerful and adjustable, maybe TTL) can be very useful.
I add that I have not tried to build it, I'll try a few tens of minutes the next weekend, however, seems to help a little 'to bring the light of the flash close to the small subject and from 2 different sources ... which helps a lot with shadows.
Update: I've built and see it is not too bad ... just mounted on my 70-300 macro I find myself at 1 meter from the subject and so instead of bringing light ... does not do a damn thing.
In the meantime I found a progettino even more beautiful and attractive to a diffuser-style ring-flash , but I'm sure that I do not even cimenterò construction.

Carina the idea
But remember those who have a Nikon digital, you can also use the flash SB600 wirelessly ... so no need to build such a crock, but managing it directly or ttl ttlbl and looking for the best position for the shot.

The comparison "crock" / SB600 personally will never do ... given the price of flash ... that is an option than the built-in.
But Danilo, comparisons that make me?? Over 250 € against the do-it-yourself?
Well I am the I paid 120 euros on ebay.com
That said, the flash is an amazing object, you solve a real world situations.
I bought the SB600 since about 3 years ago, I really struggle to remove it from the machine, and you realize what the flash is inadequate.
So it is obvious that the DIY is cute, but maybe there's someone who already has the flash and did not know who could use it wirelessly ...
that's all
Anyway my advice, if you bought the flash ... it's really another world ... and with the shadows to be used in fill-in
Sure Daniel, I have an external flash, unfortunately I "screwed up" and I've got a TTL, but that's not good for digital ... so I have to use it in manual and is NOT the same thing ...
I will try to buy this sb600 in the UK when I go in May and follow some auction on Ebay ... you never know ...
In truth every flash goes well with the digital, the maximum does not work in TTL to work ... but it works fine!
The beauty of the SB600-800-900 is the wireless capability.
We have photographed recently with a friend with 2 wireless flash more than the camera ... very funny ...
Danilo
eh ... it is the TTL does not work, but mine is even more mangy because I isolate 2 of 5 contacts under attack, or even works.
The bad thing is that you isolate them with scotch tape ... and it often moves and blocks all ... so I 'I'll put this thing on ebay soon as I can take the SB-600 or something similar, but I think the SB-600
