Acquariando: fish in the aquarium since 1997

Aquarium and aquarium in my passion for plants, fish and aquatic world

L'acquario di Genova, fra pesci, uccelli e invertebrati. I was all 'Aquarium many years ago ... in the meantime has certainly changed for the better, expanding and adding some more interesting projects for the adult audience, for science ... and for children. :-)
For this reason I intend to go over the next 2-3 years, so do see my son Lorenzo!
For example, I have not seen

  • Foto della "biosfera" the biosphere, tropical un'abiente diameter of 20 meters which houses plants and animals ... even if such a thing and I think the biggest I've admired in Barcelona, (but not the Maremagnum , but the CosmoCaixa, the Science Museum) . And if I'm not mistaken even in USA ... but I do not remember where exactly ... I remember only the presence of some chameleon.
  • Hummingbirds of the forest
  • Galata Museo del Mare: the story of the sea in galleys, ships and 6,000 original objects.

Going on the official site of the aquarium in Genoa (in my opinion ... not at the level of the structure should be revised, made more dynamic, rich content and photographs, but also content), known to have been created "paths" that are not only logical paths / physical to follow, but unfortunately also routes which corresponds to a different ticket and entry fee. This seems to me to make things much more complicated than any other public aquariums or museums or zoological sciences which I visited in the world. Something similar exists for the British Museum in London ... in the sense that there is an entrance main and then some more tickets but to allow the visit specific small thematic exhibitions. So who wants to see the main museum, known throughout the world for the treasures it houses, buy a ticket "standard", if he is interested in a show that also buys the specific business that allows him to enter the pavilions.

Seahorses born in Riccione. :-)

How beautiful are the Hippocampus? In fact ... maybe they could not appeal to everyone from a purely aesthetic point of view ... they are "strange facts" especially in comparison to the classical form of the fish ...
And they are marine fish and know how they can be colored, however, seahorses have always had a special charm. Their shape is reminiscent of the horses on land and the dragons, have a way to swim around them, especially if we are "unfortunate "Why slow and weak, but their grace is undeniable.
Seeing them in our seas is now a rarity, not impossible but really difficult especially snorkeling, but who has had this good fortune that I will remember for a lifetime!
Luckily there are to help the public aquariums, such as the Overseas Park in Riccione , which celebrates the birth of so many young seahorses! :-)
The best way to enjoy this' is really unusual fish in public aquaria and I recommend not to try to accommodate them in home aquariums, because it is not impossible but it is definitely one of the most difficult fish to breed!
It 's difficult to reproduce in captivity, but it is also difficult to just let them live long, not then in the marine reef aquarium because of the strong current that will not be able to resist.
They fish the waters calm, almost still, and spend their lives hidden in the seaweed.

The main problem lies in power, so that in small aquariums, such as those at home, the only way is frequently administered brine shrimp in large quantities.

The breeding and thus the reproduction of captive seahorses is my dream, along with pipefish are a ball that I was a boy, but after a first attempt at breeding and consequent deaths in a few months, documentatomi years I left this dream, sure that sooner or later you will realize the ideal conditions to make it happen! In practice serves SPACE, which in Rome is not easy ... I always hope in the next house! :-)

Public Aquarium of Barcelona (Maremagnum)

Sub in immersione per alimentare squali e pescioni nell'acquario di Barcellona In the port of Barcelona ( Port Vell ), in Spain, in a park and a modern building, is the ' public aquarium in the Spanish city, called Maremagnum. It 'a nice place to spend a full half day, especially in the company of children.
With my 3 year old son this past spring, we had fun, because the rooms are full of illustrations dedicated precisely to the smallest, to explain the behavior and characteristics of the species housed, and also because there is a huge vast pool dedicated the larger species that inhabit our seas, including some species of shark.
At the center of this vast pool and all around, runs a very comfortable treadmill that slowly allows everyone to calmly see the huge aquarium from all angles, but you can also get out and enjoy the show from a fixed point. We have been fortunate enough to witness the immersion of 2 divers in the tank, which fed the fish with great care so that they ate mainly sharks. I think to avoid that then, taken by hunger, they decide to try a roommate ... or even worse the next day of diving ...
L ' Aquarium of Barcelona is therefore, in my opinion, a step almost obligatory, especially if, as we encountered a gray rainy day!
