Aquarium and aquarium in my passion for plants, fish and aquatic world
I present the current hosts of ' aquarium of 40 liters "right" in the bathroom , a dozen Neolamprologus multifasciatus of various ages, but all are brothers, born from the same breeding pair that a friend and associate of the CIR, Andrea Coppola (Andreifus) . It 's their first video ... just hours after their introduction in the aquarium ... in the midst of many shells, these are in fact conchigliofili African cichlids, which means that the shells do not eat them, but that live there. Let us describe these little cute and African fishes: the Neolamprologus multifasciatus come from Lake Tanganyika , where they lay in the shells of shellfish Neothauma. In my acquarietto be content, I'm sure, of vulgar shells of marine shells of the Mediterranean.
Males reach a maximum length of 4-5 cm while females are even smaller, almost half shells in order to get even smaller, but are virtually identical to the rest males.
Slightly colored, the gray-purple, have a dozen brown vertical stripes on the body.
From personal experience (I kept them in an aquarium with other African cichlids large) tropical fish are peaceful and quiet ... but certainly not meek: if disturbed or annoyed with everyone you know to apply!
Volendoli put with other African cichlids, however, choose quiet species, possibly always little ones not to make them look bad because instead their comportamente deserves to be admired, the refurbishment of homes-shells and their parental care are really interesting to follow.
Like all African cichlid Neolamprologus multifasciatus also do well in hard water, almost perfect one in Rome, then.
